The?China?Innovation?Group?(CIG)?of?Microsoft?Asia?R&D?in?Beijing?is?taking?on?a?new?charter?in?FY’13?to?be?the?Innovation?Lab?for?STB.?We?are?looking?for?a?seasoned?researcher?with?great?leadership?skills?and?a?strong?passion?for?innovation.?The?successful?candidate?will?lead?research?and?innovation?efforts?in?the?area?of?computer?systems?in?general,?including?cloud?computing,?big?data?and?Internet?of?Things.
This?is?an?exciting?moment?for?Microsoft?STB?in?China?as?we?are?ready?to?RUN?the?Engineering,?LAND?the?Go-Big,?PLANT?the?Azure,?and?Harvest?on?the?STB?Growth?Plan?all?at?the?same?time.?This?team?will?partner?closely?with?MSRA?and?other?BGs?to?innovate,?and?build?products?and?technologies?that?will?have?an?impact?on?Microsoft’s?server?and?tools?business.
The?candidate?will?directly?report?to?the?head?of?CIG.
Job?Qualifications:
??A?PhD?degree?in?Computer?Science,?Electrical?Engineering?or?other?related?areas
??Demonstrated?capability?in?building?large-scale?distributed?systems
??Core?attributes?of?a?research?mindset:?curious,?passionate?and?eager?to?learn
??Core?attributes?of?a?system?research?mindset:?pragmatic?and?elegant?problem?solving?skills,?love?to?build?systems
??Strong?written?and?communication?skills;?adept?in?cross-team?collaboration
??5?years?above?of?industrial?experience?desired,?but?not?a?core?requirements
Job?Requirements:
Work?with?researchers?and?engineers?in?STB?China;?interact?with?researchers?of?MSRA;?lead?research?explorations;?manage,?drive?and?execute?multiple?parallel?projects?across?multiple?virtual?teams;?effectively?communicate?with?end?customers.
Desirable?Skills:
1.?Experience?with?research?projects?a?plus.
2.?Experience?with?OS?internals,?compilers,?Python,?.NET,?Java?and?distributed?system
3.?Familiarity?with?Hadoop?a?strong?plus
